Latest News March 21, 2009 - The first time out for the #57 car in 2009
was a practice session at Brownstown Speedway. The car looked superb and ran equally
as well. We can't wait to get started for the season. April 18, 2009 - First official race night of
2009. We started the feature in the fifth position and finished the same. April 25, 2009 – Eric started the heat race in the sixth
position and finished fourth. He started the feature of 19 cars in the eight position
and finished tenth. May 2, 2009 – We started the heat race outside row three
in the sixth position. On the first lap, we were forced to the outside and ended up at the
rear of the field twice. After superb and aggressive driving, Eric came through the pack
to fourth on two occasions. He finished the heat in that position. Started the feature
outside row six. With 20 cars in the race, we finished tenth. June 9, 2009 – Started the heat in the sixth spot
and finished fourth. Started the feature in the 12th position and finished ninth. June 14, 2009 – After a rain-out on Staurday, we finally
got to race on Sunday on the big Action Track - a dream come true for us! We started the
heat race in row three and finished fourth. We started 12th in the feature and raced hard
for all 15 laps. We finished a strong fourth. June 20, 2009 – We started the heat outside row three
and finished third. For the feature, we started third and finished fifth. July 10, 2009 – While running with the "Super Late Models",
we started fourth in the heat and finished in the same position. Started in the seventh
spot in the feature race and finished in that position. We finished second among the "Crate" cars. July 18, 2009 – With 21 late models in the pits, we started
the heat race in the sixth position and finished fourth. Eric started the feature in the
tenth position and finished in that position. July 24, 2009 – Eric started the heat race outside row one
and established a commanding lead. After trading the lead with two other cars twice, he
did take the win. We started the 20-lap feature race of 10
cars (five of which were "Super Late Models") outside the front row. At the green flag, Eric
established a strong lead, but was challenged several times as a result of multiple caution
flags. With nearly a straightaway lead by the 18th lap, another incident brought out yet another
caution flag. As the field bunched, another competitor decided the only way to win was to pull a
bonsai move on Eric in an effort to take him out of the competition. After nearly accomplishing
his mission, Eric was shoved back to the third position at the finish. (We have learned that some
"drivers" would be better suited at a demo derby.) We had a great run! Revenge will be
sweet!
