Eric Varner Eric Varner started his racing career at the age of five in quarter midgets. He raced through all of the quarter midget classes and won multiple championships and over 200 races during his quarter midget career. At the age of 12 he left the quarter midget ranks and graduated to a 125cc modified midget. After two years in the 125cc car, he moved to a 250cc car and then graduated to the 600 cc mini sprint. During these years in the modified midgets he racked up multiple heat and feature wins at race tracks throughout Illinois and Indiana. In 1999, Eric took a hiatus from racing. As a new opportunity arose, the racing bug bit once again in 2006. During the summer of 2006, Eric returned once again to the 600cc mini sprint ranks and campaigned the car throughout Indiana and Illinois and Ohio. He picked up heat race and feature wins both at Lebanon, IN and Pittsfield, IL. At the end of the 2006 season, the decision was made to work toward the goal he has had since starting his racing career. That goal was to move to a full size late model stock car. After putting together the car deal and the construction of a new shop to support the larger racing operation, Eric started his new career behind the wheel of a Crate Late Model in the spring of 2008. He is racing weekly at tracks throughout Indiana, Illinois and Ohio. |
